<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe reflections underlying this presentation are rooted in more than two decades of research conducted within Cape Verdean society. This research is part of an effort to understand family dynamics in a context marked by the circulation of people, a practice and value that shape local identity due to a deeply rooted culture of emigration. Within this study, we will examine the dynamics of societal movement and the formation of the family unit at a distance. This analysis will focus on a specific type of circulation: the circulation of goods in migratory contexts. The aim of this presentation is to demonstrate the complexity and strategic importance of this practice of maintaining proximity, even at a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andr\u00e9a de Souza Lobo<\/strong> is a renowned researcher in the field of social anthropology. She is currently a professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Bras\u00edlia (UnB), where she shares her expertise with students. Since the early 2000s, she has been dedicated to the study of Cape Verdean society. Her work, published in the form of books and articles, focuses on family dynamics and contexts of mobility, gender, government policies related to the family, and global circulations. She conducts research on themes common to Senegal and Brazil. She currently serves as coordinator of the Laboratory of Ethnography of Circulations and Migratory Dynamics (MOBILE\/UnB \u2013 @laboratoriomobile) and also ensures the regional coordination of the Anthera network ([https:\/\/www.redeanthera.com\/](https:\/\/www.redeanthera.com\/) ). She is a member of the international laboratories \u201cResearch in Social Sciences\u201d (LPCS), University of Cape Verde, UniCV, and LAAP, Laboratory of Prospective Anthropology, UCL, Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
