On May 23, 2018, Professor Tania Li (University of Toronto) gave a lecture in Montpellier on “The Will to Improve: Governmentality, Development, and the Practice of Politics.” Organized by APAD and UMR GRED (IRD/Université Paul Valéry), this lecture was an opportunity to revisit this major work by Tania Li, ten years after its publication. The French version of this book, Acting for Others, Governmentality, Development, and the Practice of Politics , was published by APAD and published by Karthala.
