Extractivism, resistance and alternatives in a globalized world

Colloque
APAD 2026 international
Yaoundé, 27-29 may 2026

The next APAD conference will take place from May 27 to 29, 2026 at the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC) in Yaoundé, Cameroon. With the theme “Extractivism, resistance and alternatives in a globalized world”, it will address the issue of extractivism in its various forms. Extractivism refers to the production of value through extraction processes (mining, oil industry, industrial agriculture, etc.). It thus leads to the depletion of resources and has a lasting impact on the livelihoods of populations affected by these processes. The conference approaches extractivism in a broad sense and through a global perspective understood as an effort to link different life experiences and localized phenomena across different scales.

APAD Writing Workshop: A double panel “scientific article writing workshop” is proposed. It is led by Maud Saint-Lary, Alexis Roy and Gérard Amougou.
