Our book series

APAD publishes works resulting from international conferences or the work of its members. Nineteen books have been published since the association was founded. Several of them have become classics.

APAD publishes its works with éditions Karthala, in the “Hommes et sociétés” collection, and with IRD éditions, in the “Mondes inégaux” collection. Each manuscript is assessed by APAD’s editors, Philippe Lavigne-Delville and Sylvie Ayimpam, as well as by external readers.

How to submit a book proposal?

Manuscripts of international standard and a maximum length of 800,000 characters (including spaces) should be sent to contact@apad-association.org. To ensure the relevance and quality of proposals, works based on a thesis must be accompanied by the thesis report and a letter of support from a senior researcher who is a member of APAD, thesis director or member of the jury for the thesis in question, highlighting the originality of the thesis, its quality and its relevance to APAD.
