2015 APAD International Conference will take place in Cotonou (Benin) on November 17th-20th
The conference is co-organized by APAD (Euro-African Association for the Anthropology of Social Change and Development), LASDEL (Laboratory for Studies and Research on Social Dynamics and Local Development, Niger and Benin) and LADYD (Laboratory for Analysis of Dynamic Development, Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Abomey Calavi, Benin), in partnership with the University of Abomey Calavi and with the support of the ANR APPI project “A fragmented public action? Production and institutionalization of public action” and in cooperation with the Beninese Ministry for Public Policies Evaluation.It is funded by the French Agency for Development (Research dpt), the Netherlands Royal Embassy in Cotonou and the French Institute for Development Research (IRD).
The conference will take place from the 17th to 20th November 2015 in Cotonou. It will be opened by an inaugural lecture on the campus of the University, given by Philippe Zittoun, professor of political sciences and general secretary of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA).The working session will take place in Cotonou at Hôtel du Lac.
Working languages of the conference are French and English. Depending on the number of english speaking participants, there could be simultaneous translation for the plenary sessions.
Information on send abstracts will be available early july. Final papers (maximum 7000 words or 40 000 characters including spaces) should be sent by 10 September 2015 to help organize the sessions.
Inscription fees for the conference are 39€ or 25°000Fcfa. African students pay 10°000Fcfa. For inscriptions paid before 30 September 2015 the fee reduces to 30€ or 20°000Fcfa.
Conference participants have to be APAD members and are therefore asked to join the association at the same time. Membership entitles to receiving the 2016 volumes of the APAD journal Anthropology & Development, which will comprise the conference proceedings. Limited financial support will be available. However, participants are asked to obtain their own means to cover the cost of participation in the conference. Authors whose abstracts are accepted and who have no access to financial support can make a request, provided that their text is sent on time. APAD will provide a certificate to participants whose contributions are accepted.

Entry Visa is compulsory. Please see with Benin consulate in your country.
Money. Money is Franc CFA like in other french-speaking West Africa countries. Exchange rate : 1 € = 655 FCFA. Exchange possible at the airport and in bank offices in town. Cash dispensers in town for Visa cards.
Health and vaccination. Yellow Fever vaccin is compulsory. You will have to show your International Vaccination Certificate at the airport. Anti-malaria treatment is highly recommended (zone III).
